We do not know when prime numbers were discovered. Perhaps the Egyptians and the Babylonians had already sensed them, some even date them back to the Upper Paleolithic era. What is certain is that in the third century A.D., Euclid finally addressed the prime numbers with great awareness and hypothesised certain properties they might have. Since then, these studies have never ceased, opening the field to fascinating theories and conjectures, including those about their periodicity. The table of numbers is the premise for the Prime Numbers project.
