PAOLA MORRA

ARTIST

A hat is an accessory that defines and completes a woman’s personality.
This is the inspiring thought of Paola Morra, the eclectic Neapolitan artist and niece of Ninetta Lamagna, the famous Neapolitan designer who, from the 1930’s – ‘60s, created and reinvented millinery masterpieces for women in her atelier in Piazza dei Martiri.

Paola represents the modern evolution of the Neapolitan artisanal tradition, which is distinctly original and creative. Her passion began one morning, nearly thirty years ago, when when she found herself in front of a vast array of hats of every shape and colour.
At that moment, she decided hats would be her life-calling. Since then, she has dedicated herself feverishly to the search for materials: dresses long-forgotten in the armoire, buttons, twigs carried by the wind, small fragments of metal; all the selected pieces are meticulously crafted into exclusive and unique headpieces.

What started out as a hobby, has become a vocation, now expressed through the creative workshop, RiMani, located in Passegiata Colonna.
