Marisa Coppiano starts from her collages to transform the traditional tableware accessory into a new decorative element: skilful domestic actors, the plates inhabit the rooms of the house, making the spaces unique and original, veritable “paintings” to display, collectors’ items because they are produced in limited editions. While the practice of hanging plates on the walls is rooted in mid-nineteenth century Naples, plates today have claimed their rightful place in contemporary home décor, both to adorn the walls and to enliven the table.
